When it comes to coffee origins, there are not many origins that can compare to Brazil when it comes to broad appeal! Everyone, no matter what their coffee preferences are, can appreciate and enjoy a well-rounded, full-bodied, rich and chocolatey Brazilian coffee.
For as long as we can remember, Italy has been an icon in the global coffee scene. Four generations ago, Arcanjo Bachiao, the son of an Italian immigrant, bought land in Brazil with the aspirations of becoming a coffee producer. That farm is Sitio Lagoa and it remains in the family today. Although this farm gained much of its success in the '70s through mass production of coffee, its focus today has shifted to producing high-quality lots for the specialty coffee market. With over half a century of expertise passed down from generation to generation, it is no wonder that this coffee is such a spectacular example of why everyone can find something to love in a good Brazilian coffee.
This isn't the first (and definitely won't be the last) time that we've described a coffee as a "hug-in-a-mug"... probably because that's the ideal goal when it comes to sourcing and roasting Brazilian coffees. The first thing you'll notice about this coffee is a rich and decadent aroma of cocoa (and we're not talking about cocoa, we're talking about the good stuff that's made from real chocolate), this chocolate aroma follows through to deliver a delicious brownie-like taste on the first sip. This is followed up by notes of strawberry with a hint of lemon that lingers on the palate.
